Château Malagar Vintage 2006
AOC Premières Côtes de Bordeaux - Red wine
Estate's Story
It is September 18th, 1843 when the back big father of François Mauriac, Jean, buys the property of MALAGAR. François Mauriac went regularly in this symbolic place, in particular in Easter and in the season of the grape harvests. In this beautiful house, surrounded by two wine cellars, he got fresh ideas and found the inspiration for the writing of his most famous works " the nest of vipers ", "Therese Desqueyroux"...
The dominant exposure in the sun of south makes even of the hillside a real place which less than somewhere else is subject to frosts, on the other hand, the sector is particularly well ventilated; the soil is very privileged for the culture of the vine: the slope insures rounds consisted of marls and sandy clays and of rather recent silt in the summit. The plots of land do not suffer there thus, in priori, from an excess or from a water shortage, no more than from a strong erosion.
