You’re at Baurech, on the departmental road D10. When you come up to the church, make a right angle turn then turn your back to the river and take the narrow and abrupt little road. Drive until the clayey limestone and grave plateau.
Here you are, in the heart of the royal grape varieties from Bordeaux, an ideally drained and perfectly exposed soil. The castle of Laroche presents you its treasures, a fairytale residence which 17th and 18th century’s buildings enclose a picturesque 16th century tower.

Our “terroir” gives wines with character, we strive to express and respect the best we can. We use traditional and modern winemaking methods and hope that our quality work is reflected in our wines.
If the Premieres Côtes de Bordeaux is one of the oldest areas planted with the Graves, it is because of its original soil, this particularly benefits Château Laroche. This is a very narrow band situated on a folding gravel, clay-limestone and favoured by a very good drainage, which allows a regulated wine throughout the growing.

The unique soil produces wines that are also midway between Graves and Saint Emilion, with remarkable powers of aging.
